Mass transfer and density

Using the magnetic suspension balance to measure two samples, which has already been mentioned on page 9, simultaneous sorption and density measurements can be carried out. By weighing the Ti sinker as the second sample according to Archimedes principle, the density of the fluid phase is determined. Particularly under high pressure or in gas mixtures this cannot be calculated accurately using equations of state. However, the density influences via the buoyancy correction the measured sorption values enormously and can cause clearly falsified measuring results.
